Today is the last day of the year.
We have become one more year older.
The old saying 'Time and tide wait for no man' is perfectly apt.
How quickly time passes?
It is beyond our control.
Let the New Year come with full of hopes and aspirations.
Let us try to forget the past.
We can try to maintain calm ,devoid of anger, jealousy, tension .....
Let us try to utilize our time to the best of our abilities.
Let us hope for a happy and prosperous new year.

New Year Hopes
I did not write anything for the last so many days. Why?
I do not know.
Any how, this year 2010 has almost reached its dead end. Only three days left.
My personal site is ready and uploaded.
I Was thinking for a personal web site for the last so many months.
Finally it has given shape.
What is the next step?
Precisely speaking I do not know.
I have to write more and more.
It is high time to forget the past and look for a brighter period.

Forgot
Yesterday I forgot to post my blog.
Why I don't know.
A minor slip.
I was in calm and quite peaceful manner.
I expected site design from
Otwo;but they did not. Why so much time?
Readbud also has not made the payment of 50 $ till now.
Are they cheating the gullible public?
Only time will tell.
I spent some time in revising the grammar of English.

End of 2010
Another 30 days more. How quickly one year has passed? The proverb 'Time and tide wait for no man ' is perfectly right. Almost 330 days of this year have passed. It is high time one takes account of last one year's deeds, achievements and failures.
Also one can think about his new year resolutions. Past is past; nothing can be done about it. But one can analyse his past mistakes and see that they are not repeated.
Generally we try to find fault with others, brood over it and waste our precious time on it. That can be avoided.
Anger is a very dangerous trait; we lose our capacity to think coolly and act accordingly. Control your anger.
Be active;engage in some activities; control your mind from going out of the way.
even if you can not help some body, please do not inflict pain and try to harm him.
Do not lose hope, success will be yours. Perhaps it may take time.
Money has a very important role in one's life. Earn money in a legitimate manner. Do not spent money extravagantly. Have discipline in financial management, spend wisely.
have a close watch on your health. Have balanced and limited food, take proper exercise. Keep your mind free from worries, have positive out look.

Prayer
Who is God?
God is omnipotent. God is our creator,God is all powerful?
Why do we pray to God?
Because we want God's favors.
WE want God to help us in getting employment, good health free of diseases, contented family life, money every thing in the world.
For Hindus there are many Gods. For other religions, they have their own style of worship.
Temples,churches,mosques,synagogues.. all worship places.
According to Hindu religion ,there are are three types of worship.
Those who go to a temple and pray to God, some others who go to temple and then have satsang and bhajans and the third group who do their prayers sitting in their own places where ever they are.

Blog
Blog it is old is a personal diary where one can post his thoughts, deeds, opinions etc.
It is a web site.
But the question is why people should read some body's personal diary?
Yes ,if the topic is of general interest, there is nothing wrong in it.
Since it is in the public domain, one should take care to see that the writings are not of objectionable nature.
The writing should be stimulating and interesting.

Peace of Mind
Udit Chaitanyaji says -Respect can't be purchased,it has to be earned by one's own actions.
Don't waste your precious time in murmuring, grumbling and complaining.
Do not expect others to behave the way you want. Leave others to their own field.
Do our duty; leave the rest to God.
Daily spend some time in
- Pranayama
- Meditation
- Japam
A relaxed mind is more powerful. It is close to God.
Remain detached from your own family members.

Mental Peace
Every human being in this world will be under mental tension at one time or other. Troubles, sorrows, sufferings are part of human life;but how one overcomes these trials and tribulations are more important.Generally there is a tendency to put the blame on others.
But the best way to overcome these difficulty is always think positively. Do not worry about the future nor brood over the past. Pray to God and seek his blessings.
Engage your mind in some activities always. The old dictum 'Idle mind is devil's work shop" is perfectly apt.
Expel from your mind all ill feelings. Visualize only good things and nurture creative thoughts.

Forgot to write
For the last two months, I did not post any thing.
I was not n a mood to write.
Why no mood?
I do not know.
People are busy in panchayat elections.
Rugmni is a candidate. Unni Ettan and her supporters had come for canvassing.
Remani went to see Oppa.
Today I read few pages of the novel Ladies Coupe by Anita Nair. I could not digest it.
Is it fashion to write like this?
or is it modern art of writing?

Last one week
Last one week, I did not write anything. Dasan's death was an unexpected event.
A man who was OK till the last moment, suddenly collapsed and left for heaven.
Nothing can be predicted in this world, that is life.
Weather was most of the days cloudy and rainy.
Yesterday was Attam.
Only ten days for Onam.
People are busy in making purchases, new clothes for all.
Happy Onam!

Back Pain
Back Pain – Its Causes And Remedial Measure
Key words: Back pain, Back pain causes, Chronic back pain
Back pain must have occurred at least once in each and everybody’s life. In one way it is an unavoidable phenomenon. Statistical analysis shows that ladies are less susceptible to this than gents. The pain can be chronic or severe. Discomfort arises out of the pain and one may find it difficult to attend to his normal duties. One can see lot of advertisements about pain killers. The effectiveness of these is doubtful.
Before going into the causes of back pain, one has to know the anatomy of the human back. The back of our body is composed of bony lumbar spine (vertebrae) which consists of discs. The back bone includes bone, muscles and elastic tissues. The spine which is placed at the centre of back has twenty four block bones. It holds the body upright and ensures its mobility. Inter-vertibral discs cushion in between the blocks is to keep the bones separated from rubbing each other.
Symptoms
The basic symptoms of back pain are-
-Pain in the region of middle or lower back.
-Difficulty in bowel /bladder movement
-Pain in the hip/waist region
-Difficulty in movement

The main back pain causes are-
-Fall or injury
-Obesity
-Sedentary life style
-Old age
-Strenuous work
-Wrong diet
-Smoking
-Depression
-Maintaining wrong posture
-lifting of heavy things
Remedial Measures
The remedial measures can be grouped under two classes-
Temporary
-Use of pain killer medicine
-Ice pack
-Oil massage
Long Term Measures

-Maintain proper posture
-Use hard bed
-Regular exercise
-Proper rest and sleep
Don’ts
-Do not use high heeled shoes
-Do not sit continuously in chair
-Avoid carrying heavy things
-Do not stand for long hours
If proper care is taken in day to day activities, back pain can be avoided. However for chronic back pain, a physiotherapist should be consulted.

Water water every where
Water water every where
Not a drop to drink!
Thus goes the adage -
If I change it this way,how it will be?
Wheat n wheat every where
Not a single 'roti' to eat!
It was two decades back, in Muscat, Madame Valter Hagstong of Sweden, showed me a photo taken by her when she had come to India as a tourist.
In the picture it can be seen street urchins fighting for a morsel in the pavement of Bombay; no sorry Mumbai.
She showed the with a sarcastic smile on her lips. Poor Indians, she might have thought.
But what is the significance of that today? You may ask.
Yes,it has significance.
The other day there was a report in the news paper which read as follows:
50,000 mt of wheat have rotted and declared as unfit for human consumption.
Mind you this is India where even today a large number of people are finding it difficult to fill their stomachs even once a day.
As per government of India guide lines ,families below BPL are entitled for 35 kg of grains/month under the public distribution system. With this yard stick, 1,20,000 families could have been fed.
FCI, it is reported to has 17.8 million mt of food grins in gunny bags kept on elevated racks covered with gunny bags.
What will be the fate of this stock after the rains is not known.
The case has gone to the Supreme Court which has asked the Government to file an affidavit. It seems the Government's policy in thus regard is abysmal.
The Government should have distributed the grains freely to the poor and needy instead of rotting.
Nobel laureate Amartya Sen once pointed out that food grains available with FCI if stacked vertically would touch the moon.

August has come
July is dead; August has come
Bright sunny day!
Clear sky, no rain as usual
Birds chirping
Oh what a fine day?
Nice day indeed
Squirrel runing there,
Butter fly roaming about
Oh God! what a nice day?
Sunrays peeping into my garden
There comes the squirrel again
I don't know why?
Yes! that is nature.

Dead Yesterday
Swami Udit Chaitanya says,
Why brood ovr the past?
Forget about it
Concentrate on the present
Look and study nature
The sky,sea,rain,fire,sun,moon
All have their role to play in our lives
Throw away unwanted thoughts from our minds
Burn it;forget it
Make life simple and happy
Get engaged in some work
Don't sit idle.
The old saying "Idle mind is devil's workdshop
Perfectly apt.

Life is not a bed of roses
I was viewing a TV programme
The awful conditions of a poor man
He is really a poor man
He is sick and incapacitated
He is staying with his wife and three children
His house is in a confined space
No exit point to move out
His neighbour,panchayat president
Blocked his way
Poor man represented to all
No effect; all are on the richman's side
What to do poor fellow

Remain Young in old age
“Time and tide wait for no man” thus goes the old adage. Days roll into months and months to years. We can’t stop the clock ticking.
Human body becomes weak in old age, black hair turns to white, joints become stiff, memory weakens … like that so many problems of old age.
Death is inevitable; that is a fact of life.
However, we can delay the process of ageing and the problems associated with old age can be mitigated to a certain extent. We will be able to lead a healthy, happy and energetic life even after crossing the barrier at 60.
But how? That is a big question. Let us try to get an answer to that.

In brief the answer is - Balanced food, minimum physical exercise, calm and quiet mental disposition, utilize the spare time to serve the society.

Expectations
Expectations - the need to have limitations
key words- expectations, dejected, reasonable limits
Every body in this world have their own expectations.
But quite often it so happens that , your expectations may get shattered.
You may feel disheartened, dejected and sometimes angry.
What is the solution?
Follow this dictum:
" Do not always expect others to behave the way you want.
Keep your expectations with in reasonable limit; do not have over expectation. Try to remain calm and cool in odd circumstances also."
